Gosh it seems like blogging is the newest thing! I've never been very good at keeping a journal or diary so we'll see how long this actually lasts me.
So a bit about me. I'm 33 soon to be 34(yikes!). My birthday is June 18th. I was not however named after the month I was born according to my parents. I was named after June Cleaver! Yeah that's a great claim to fame, huh? I'm married to Todd and we've been married for 6 years come July 20th. I love him but he does drive me crazy! He is a police constable and I am a Special Education Teacher/Librarian. We met in a northern fly-in first nations community and it's amazing that we are still together.
We have a 6 yo son, Matthew who was a total surprise. We were still in the midst of planning our forthcoming wedding when I finally realized I was pregnant! I was 6 months along and had no clue! Drs had always told me it would be extremely difficult for me to have children so it just never occurred to me. He is a busy little boy who loves army guys and dirt bikes.
We have a 2 yo daughter, Amelia who was very much planned. It took us over a year to conceive her. She refers to herself as Mia so now we've taken to calling her that as well. We also have a second daughter named Gillian. She is the most recent addition to our family, arriving 3.5 weeks early on April 18, 2007. She is perfect. She seems to be fitting into our family perfectly. Matthew and Amelia adore her.
I'm currently on mat. leave so that is why I'm starting this. You are probably wondering where I'm finding the time with three children running around! Matthew is in senior kindergarten every other day and preschool the days he's not in school. I'm still sending Mia to her daycare provider Gaets. She loves it there and has other kids to play with and Gaets can do more with her than I can at the moment. I'm thinking I will keep sending her until the end of May at least and then cut down to half time in June. We really need to watch our money. Then there's Gillian who is really a good baby. She has her moments but not like how Matthew was. He was my colicky baby. Gillian sleeps most of the day and will usually look around quietly during her awake time. She does love to be snuggle but that's not a problem! I love to snuggle her!
Once I'm back to work in September I know things will be much more hectic. I just have to be organized which I know is not my strong suit. I hate to think about going back to work in September because I know it will be here before I know it. My sweet baby will only be 5 months old! SO sad! But what can I do? We are building a house which I am so excited about but in doing so our mortgage payments with practically double! Something I think we can deal with but not without me returning to work and some heavy-duty budgeting. Oh and not to mention, Todd cutting back on his spending. I swear he will drive me crazy with everything he wants! He just bought a 17in monitor for the computer and a GPS. We aren't going to be going anywhere so why do we need a GPS???? Oh and he wants a sirius radio and he wants a dirt bike and he wants a trailor! ARGH!!!! He wants, he wants, he wants!!!! Can you tell it bothers me just a little bit? Sure he works hard and he makes good money but we are leaving pay cheque to pay cheque because of all the stupid bills and it's just not right! I need to get him to stop before we are in waaaaay too far over our heads.
