Happy 1/2 Birthday sweet baby girl!!!

Six months ago today I was lying on the couch trying to get to sleep having moved there from my bed where sleep just wasn't happening. The day had been a busy one . . . a dr.'s appt and decluttering our house to get it ready for showings. At 1:30 am I got the first hint that something was up but I steadfastly refused to believe it was contracts as I was only 36 w 5d . . . I wasn't even off of work yet . . . I had way too much to do before the baby came . . . and Matthew's birthday party was just a few days away. So I waited and kept willingly the pains to go away. I kept thinking well at least they aren't very regular. That's a good sign. But by 3 am I could tell they were coming more regular. I woke Todd to give him the heads up but said I was just going to time them more acurately before jumping to any conclusions. By 4 the ctx were every 5 minutes and painful. I had to admit defeat. This baby was bound and determined to come so we had to get our butts in gear. I did not have a bag ready so I threw everything I could think of into my overnighter woke up the two sleeping kiddos and rushed them over to the sitters house. By then I was in real pain. And of course the van needed gas. I begged Todd to only put in what we needed to get there but it still seemed like an eternity. He could tell I was in pain . . . I didn't hide it very well. So he sped like crazy to the hospital. I don't think he came to a full stop for any STOP signs or traffic lights. It was just after 5 in the morning at that time and he knew that no cops were on the road, I guess he would know! I won't go through all the details of Gillian's birth but it happened at 8:06 am soon after I received an epi that they probably could have refused me but thankfully didn't. We had no idea that this sweet little baby would be a girl but I was so happy she was! After a bit of discussion and leafing through a magazine that happen to be in a drawer by the bed, we decided her name would be Gillian. I had to use my final vetoes on Gisele and a couple other very obvious modelish names. But Gillian suits her and I'm glad now that we chose it. So without much further ado . . . here's Gillie bean.
