What a cool book to teach kids how big something is when they can't personally experience it. I think this will be a hit in my library.
Kids totally love Scaredy Squirrel! This is the second in the series but the first was a HUGE hit!
This book will definitely pull at your mommy heartstrings . . . kids won't "get it" but you will be a weepy mess! Reminds me of Robert Munsch's Love You Forever. I CANNOT read that book in front of a class - I cry everytime!
I had such a great day! I got to do one of my most favourite things - buy books! And not only did I buy books - lots of books - I got to do it with school money! Nothing like shopping with other people's money! My budget unfortunately is so limited! I spent $1100 today but I so had to restrain myself from spending anymore. It was hard as books are my addiction. Two years ago we got government funding and I got to spend $10 000 in one day!! That was so much fun! I heard the board has applied for it again this year but we won't know if we get it until April. I really hope so!
I LOVE books! I have such a serious passion for them especially picture books. There is nothing like reading an amazing picture book to a group of kids and seeing them so totally into it! And then have them all clammering to take out the book I just read. I think picture books can fit any and all grades too. They are not just for little kids. I still read picture books to the grade 7/8's. It's such a great feeling to inspire kids to read . . . to find that just right book that turns a nonreader into an avid fan.

Oh how I wish I loved reading books. I want to love it, but just don't.

Ooooh! Great recommendations. We are always looking for great book choices, but my amazon wish list is greater than my pocket book! Zoe has just started picking books up an bringing them to me to read to her.
